A Professional Employer Organization (PEO) shares a tax ID with the customer, allowing the client to transfer key employer liabilities to the PEO. While it is considered a co-employment relationship, the client retains control of their company.

An Administrative Services Organization (ASO) provides essentially the same services, but does not establish a co-employer relationship/share a federal tax id with the client.
